"A post shared by Edinburgh Food Porn & Reviews (@plateexpectations) on Jul 7, 2017 at 3:45am PDT. Part of a chain of three restaurants dotted across Edinburgh, Maki and Ramen offers soothing bowls of broth with braised bean curd (or try the ‘Hell Ramen’ if you dare!) and then plenty of fresh sushi to have on the side or as an additional course. This is probably the best sushi restaurant on this list for vegetarians, too, thanks to its thoughtful and delectable vegetarian set dishes."

Stylish and impressive, this is a lovely restaurant to go to when you are on a special date – or just whenever you want to feel a little fancy. The menu here is a classy one: think aubergine with miso, seared swordfish, and seafood salad to start with."
"Sushiya is a small, but perfectly formed sushi restaurant which brings a little slice of Tokyo to Edinburgh. The decor is minimalist and stylish, as are the bowls and plates, with the flourish provided by the intricately prepared dishes and garnishes. The food almost looks too good to eat!"
"Kanpai Sushi has become so popular in Edinburgh, that they have opened a new sister restaurant, Yamato. It's doing just as well, so again, you'll need to book in advance to avoid disappointment. The setting is beautiful and the selection of sushi is mouth-watering and perfectly presented."
"Kanpai Sushi is a hip Japanese restaurant in the heart of Edinburgh, a short walk from the Usher Hall. Winner of the Best Newcomer Award at the Scottish Restaurant Awards 2012, this sophisticated eatery has been making friends fast and looks likely to be serving beautifully prepared sushi and sake to discerning clientele for some time. The menu is, unsurprisingly, dominated by delectable seafood."
"This multi award-winning Japanese restaurant and takeaway serves a variety of sushi, tempura, teppan and more. The food is outstanding, and the restaurant's elegant interior and ambience makes it the perfect date night restaurant for sushi lovers. As with all the best restaurants, we advise you to book in advance."
"If you’re going to visit one sushi restaurant in Edinburgh, make it Kanpai. It’s the most expensive restaurant on this list, but it’s also easily the best sushi in the city. The presentation of their food is superb, and the menu is full of inventive dishes."
"Bentoya is a cozy little restaurant near the Grassmarket, and it’s a great spot for fresh, quality sushi at a reasonable price. I’d recommend the spicy salt & pepper squid and the volcano roll, which is beautifully presented, and topped with dried shredded chili. The sashimi is also excellent, and has a creamy melt-in-your-mouth texture."
"Offering Japanese food with Chinese, Korean and also some Scottish influences. They have most amazing selection of Bento boxes, with wonderful flavour combinations. The menu is extensive and good value for money."

"There isn’t a single vacation that we have been on that we haven’t stopped at a Hard Rock Cafe if it was available. Sometimes more than once if we are feeling extra lazy with decision making and just want to grab American style food. Each restaurant has a different local burger on their menu."
"Tuck into all the American classics, including burgers, steaks, indulgent desserts and classic cocktails in this rock n roll themed resultant. Outdoor seating is unreserved and available on a first-come-first-served basis. Hard Rock Cafe20 George Street, Edinburgh."
"An extended home-away-from-home for the local Leithers, young professionals and hipsters, this small-ish space is littered with quirky vintage-style armchairs and comfy lived-in sofas. A small bar with big ideas, Boda offers a drinks menu for all seasons, with decent beers, local gins and a good selection of wines and cocktails, plus events like vegan cocktail nights."
"It is cozy, welcoming and has a bohemian feel and a lively atmosphere. You'll find the clientele very friendly and chatty. The music is generally very good and they are open to requests."
"Graze over tapas and sharing plates, indulgent desserts and smaller dishes that are just perfect for a lunch treat, all while sipping on a classic cocktail in this city centre bar."
"If you are a fan of Elemis spa treatments, PURE Spa is the one for you!. The contemporary design of the spa is sophisticated and relaxing, with a brilliant relaxation room where you can completely unwind after your treatment and enjoy some complimentary fruit juice. Here in Edinburgh, we are lucky to have 3 amazing locations where you can experience a PURE Spa; Lothian Road, Rose Street & Newhaven."
"Disclaimer: My meal at Loudons New Waverley was a gifted experience. All opinions are my own. Loudons runs two cafes in Edinburgh – the original on Fountainbridge, and a new spacious location at New Waverley, a development project with living space, hotels, shops and restaurants just off the Royal Mile."
