"Paul Kitching’s 21212 opened in May 2009 and was awarded a Michelin star in 2010. Located in a Georgian townhouse, lunch time is the best to visit as a two-course weekday lunch starts at just £20 per person – and the menu changes every week. If you fancy staying, they also have four luxury bedrooms to rest your head in."
"The four bedrooms above this Michelin-starred restaurant with rooms are as stylish as the food. The contemporary/baroque look (at times surprising, but always sensual) and unexpectedly leafy views, make this a low-key option with a high-octane experience."
"L’Escargot Bleu is a slice of France in the heart of Edinburgh, complete with French staff, French decor, and an oh-so-very French menu. Open since 2009, this smart restaurant has award-winning chef Fred Berkmiller running the show, and he’s a stickler for provenance. This means only the finest Scottish, seasonal ingredients, all sourced from a host of top local suppliers, make it into the kitchen and onto the plate."
"Located in New Town, Fleur de Sel is a trendy but friendly restaurant that specialises in authentic French crêpes. Batter is made with buckwheat imported from Brittany, and the majority of toppings, such as salted caramel, lemon curd or coconut ice cream, are homemade. Crepe Créole (banana, dried grape marinated with rum, vanilla ice cream, and flambé with rum) is a standout dish."
"Cream wooden clad walls make The Little Chart Room feel almost nautical, and with little else to distract you the focus falls fully to the food. Expect cheffy creations like rainbow carrots, goat’s cheese, cumin, buckwheat, hazelnuts and alexanders, and lamb rump, sweetbreads, labneh, anchovies, sweetheart cabbage and pink fir apple potatoes. Maximum capacity: 14 Cuisine: European Cost indicator: Room charge of £200, mains from £20"
"The Little Chartroom is redefining fine dining|© The Little Chartroom. A firm favourite of restaurateur Jérôme Henry, chef-proprietor of Le Roi Fou, The Little Chartroom has been garnering rave reviews since opening in 2018. The navy-and-cream colour scheme creates a cool, calm ambience, with the maritime feel further enhanced by nautical maps hung on the walls."
"One of the best options in Edinburgh to sample fresh and flavoursome French cuisine. Duck's at Le Marche Noir also offers an impressive wine list."

There is a large semi-formal dining area to the rear of the premises, and a delightfully relaxed cafe nearer the front with comfy sofas and a plethora of cushions. The restaurant serves a wide array of classic French bistro dishes, such as the wonderful crock monsieur and an array of tempting soups, terrines and roasts."

Accompany your meal with a French wine from the extensive wine list, or stay true to Scottish roots with a Caledonian ale."
"Editor's Note: Photo taken from the establishment's official social account. Jules remember that Mother’s Day is coming!. We are getting ready to make all mums feel special and happy!"
"Taquito is dedicated to serving delicious, no frills, Mexican street food. What this means in practice is a short and to the point menu of tacos, quesadillas, burritos, fajitas or nachos with hearty cuts of beef steak, succulent chicken, rich barbecued pork, spicy pork or vegetable chili. They have a range of sauces to cool down or spice up your meal and serve pitchers of rather good cocktails."
"Famous for their large portions, Mexican street food takeaway, Taquito, is great value for money. A regular burrito costs £4.20 and comes packed with rice, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, vegetables and your choice of meaty filling, including smoky pork, chorizo or shredded beef. "We happened across The Boozy Cow with some friends a few years ago, but I decided to rediscover it for this collab. From starting off this list with a vegetarian place, I now give you the extremely anti-vegan Boozy Cow, which is essentially set up to look like an abbatoir. While it’s not for the faint-hearted, it is a really cool bar set right off Princes Street (there’s also an entrance on Rose Street) so it’s about as central as you can get in the New Town of Edinburgh."
"The Ox on London Street is a stylish and cosy gastropub that can be found at the bottom of Broughton Street, just a short walk from the centre of town. The pub has a quieter seated area that makes it perfect for families who can enjoy a pub setting and still get away from the hustle and bustle of the bar area with the little ones. Their delicious menu has all the pub classics and they even do a special deal on burgers on Tuesdays between 6-9pm, as well as a special roast offering on Sunday."
"Located at the bottom of Broughton Street, The Ox is a lively and vibrant place serving fantastic fresh local and seasonal produce specialising in Ox related items such as Ox cheek, Oxtail soup as well as lots of other great dishes and specials. They also do a fantastic Sunday roast with all the trimmings which proves very popular as well. The Ox is a great addition to Broughton Street."
